NOVA ATUALIZAÇÃO! Adicione tags no Apple Watch e execute Load — Perfis de Velocidade do Exercício Split Squat

Apple Watch, Tags, Atualização, Agachamentos divididos, Apple Health

Tags are one of our most versatile features. They allow us to address a wide range of use cases, from adding exercise variations to managing data for an unlimited number of athletes, whether you’re a coach working online or in person. Thanks to this and recent research, you can now automatically create load-velocity profiles for Split Squats by tagging the right or left leg.

Tags on the Apple Watch

Until now, tags could only be added from monitored sets using an iPhone. Now, you can also add them directly on the Apple Watch. The new screen includes the following features:

  • List of selected tags for the next set: The most recently used tags will appear automatically. If you want to remove one, just tap on it.
  • Add a new tag: A text field that you can easily fill in using your voice to add any tag you want.
  • Retrieve recently used tags: When filtering, it’s important that the tags are exactly the same. For example, if you’re filtering for the right leg of the same exercise, you shouldn’t use “right” one day and “right leg” another day, as Spleeft will recognize them as different tags. To simplify this, we provide the option to select tags used in previous sets, speeding up the process.

Remember, you can edit tags in the iPhone’s history if you make a mistake. Later, you can filter by tag in the settings and history to keep your stats updated.

Load — Velocity Profile in Split Squats

At Spleeft, we always aim to apply the latest scientific evidence (Study on load-velocity relationship in Split Squats). Recent research has validated individualized load-velocity profiles for this exercise, allowing us to implement them. Thanks to the tags on the Apple Watch, you can differentiate the load-velocity profile for the right and left leg.

For test days, if you have an Apple Watch 8 or later, you can activate our precise mode to improve reliability, especially with lighter loads (Spleeft update – 200 Hz measurements and metrics). Be sure to pause between repetitions to give Spleeft time to calibrate the signal and provide more accurate measurements.

Additional Improvements — Apple Health

We’ve enhanced the user experience with Apple Health training sessions. Remember, Apple requires that we have an active training session to measure velocity from the Apple Watch.

If you haven’t started a training session, Spleeft will now remind you before you begin a set.

We’ve also added a single measurement mode, which we think will be useful for people who only want to perform a quick vertical jump fatigue test or a single set of squats. A training session will start, but it will be discarded after the set, so the data won’t be saved in Apple Health.

Next Steps

Thanks to your feedback, we know that many of you use Spleeft to measure jump height. You can provide feedback or request features here: Feedback Form.

We are working on jump functionality by optimizing our measurements with force platforms and motion capture systems. We will also add new metrics, charts, and the ability to tag your jumps.
